Chocolate making & steam vent
Kids got a bag of cacao nibs previous day, so they want to make their own chocolate! They started from making nibs into powder, which is cocoa powder. Meg wanted to make it her own way, which is fine, but I convinced her that we should do at least basic research about chocolate making, so we don’t have to make mistake by wasting their effort of powder making. We figured out that chocolate is basically made of cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and sugar. If we want to make milk chocolate, we can add powder milk. Sugar can be substituted by honey or maple syrup. But basically no liquid should be added, because moisture will be connected with oil and it gets seized, which is crumbly texture.
