Denver To Kona

Beautiful day in Denver! At the end of the last flight, turbulence was pretty rough. And kids are complaining that they’re getting sick. They had a good amount of soda, so I didn’t want them to feel sick. So I gave them chewable motion sickness pills (yes I’m a well prepared mom).  Layover at Denver was about 2 hours. After training Meg for traveling (letting her lead the way at airport, like where to go next and how to find info we need…), going to the different terminal with riding a terminal shuttle, and finding the next gate, we only had about less than an hour of the waiting time for next flight.  We had some snacks and a quick bathroom break, it was time to board. Nice & smooth transit. Woohoo Oh, speaking of nice & smooth, our first (almost) accident was at Nashville airport with John. After going through TSA pre check gate, we were retrieving all of belongings like backpack, jackets, etc, we were like “ok let’s go!” And somehow, I said “does everybody have ever...

First flight was good!   It’s United Airline and our tickets are the lowest price, so we technically should not be able to select seats. Since we have kids under 12, they give us special seats we can sit together, which we the very back row with wall behind us. Bo was playing with a game and got frustrated, kicked the back seat of a person in front of him (oops). Sorry.  Kids enjoyed the free movies and games, unfortunately the next flight would not have a personal screen. They packed their art supplies and kindles loaded with books and audio books in their backpacks, so I hope they’ll survive next 7 hrs of flight.  It was 3-3 seats flight, so we separated kids&me and John, still lining up in a same row. There are 2 more people on John’s side, and soon after the departure, there was a leak? from ceiling right above them. It was not so bad but dripping some liquid. Eww. They notified the flight attendant and they gave them some napkins & tapes to fix.  Aaaand ...

We woke up around 4:30am zzzz and got ready. Everything had been ready last night, including online check in & payment for the bags, so all we had to do was changing clothes. I had sensitive belly yesterday and this morning. Probably from too much excitement?  We got an uber to the airport. The driver was used to be a truck driver and she had some fun stories. Like a story of the passenger she had one time. She picked up this drunk guy at downtown Nashville, and he opened the door to get out while she’s still driving because he was not feeling good. Yikes.  We got to the airport without any traffic, bag drop off was easy, security was easy (we have TSA pre check), and we got to the gate 80mins before the boarding.  Our first 3 hours flight won’t have any food service (unless we pay a lot for it), so I prepared a snack/meal bag previously packed for each of us. It’ll keep us fill for this trip. Our second flight from Denver for 7hrs should have some food.  J...
